Car radio HI, I have a 2001 Rs eclipse and my radio has been locked because i had to replace my battery. How can I get the code for the radio and is there one code for all cars?

Make sure you get the serial number off the radio before you call. I called a local Mitsu. dealer, once I gave the serial number, the gave the code (owner's manual gives instructions on how to enter)

You need to get the code from your local mitsubishi dealership all codes are different. if you have log books sometimes you may find it in there also.

Turn your steering column while turning on the car this should help. I had a problem with mine once and it did this (wouldn't start) but once the battery was replaced problem went away. You could also have a defected battery which also happened to my 2001 Eclipse RS last year.

Lost radio code

Radio lock out codes are security related, and each code is unique to the car and the radio in that car, and that unique code was supplied with the original paper work when the car was delivered to the original owner to discourage theft, so they are not published on the internet, if they were what would be the point?? any thief could get the code after stealing your radio. Contact the dealer for instructions and what info u need to get your cars unique radio code. The dealer will require the serial number off the radio and proof of ownership of the car it came from.

the stereo may have connection with your anti theft device, drive your car to the dealer and they can reset the device for you at a minimal charge. this should resolve these issues. Good luck

call 1888mitsu2001, choose option #4, then hit * (star). give the operator the last 8 numbers in your vin and they will provide the radio code for FREE!

DO NOT PAY FOR THE CODE ONLINE OR GO TO THE DEALER (they will also charge you).

all you have to do is call a local mitsubishi dealer and ask for parts department and ask for the code. but first you must remove your stereo and serial number and i forget what she called the other number, just dont do what i did and just randomly enter wrong numbers your radio will lock up and i dont know what to do now
