My 91 honda accord just makes a click sound when I turn the key. The battery is fully charged and the connections at the terminals are clean and solid. Is there a good troubleshooting chart that i can use to determine what the problem is?

A sinlgel click from the starter is a good sign that the starter has failed. Actually its the solenoid on the starter that has failed. The click tells us the solenoid has energized however, either the contacts that allow high current to the starter windings in the solenoid have gone bad, the windings in the starter are bad, or the brushes for the starter motor are bad. In any case it sounds like a new starter is in your future.

My Honda Accord wont start even with a jump. The lights come on but wont turn over. No click, no sound, no nothing

IT's those short drives that burn down a battery! The starting of an engine requires mucho electric to get it running. The alternator then charges the battery, but slowly! If you also have the lights and stereo on it is even slower. Get the battery FULLY charged with a commercial battery charger. Then check to see if the alternator is charging up the battery after you start it. If not, replace the alternator. If the battery dies overnight or in a few days...replace the battery.

I have 2001 Honda Accord, it lately clicks when I atempt to start it, battery is almost new and fully charged, with voltage reading of 13.8, and all connections are clean with very good contact. My first...

Most likely the solenoid. Check the voltage at the starter, it should be the same as the battery one one of them and nothing on the other one. Work the starter and there should be voltage at the second terminal.
Jump the two terminals together too see if the starter works. Make sure that the car is in neutral and the brake is on.

I have a 91 accord coupe. I won't start. I checked my battery and it's holding 12 volts. All of the rest of my electrical work. I turned the headlights on and turned the key and the lights did no dim....

Check the starter relay for operation. It should be in the engine compartment fuse box. If the relay is good, you can make a jumper wire and connect directly from the battery positive terminal to the starter solenoid terminal--the single small wire going to the starter. If you get cranking, the starter soleniod is good and the problem is in the circuitry that includes the ignition switch and starter relay. If the solenoid still doesn't click, it's bad.

Engine will not turn over...battery is ok

First thing to do is check all fuses and relays. If all are good. Then check the battery. Even if you bought it yesterday. Remove the battery and have tested. Most parts stores will do it free. Make sure the cables are in good order. Replace them if they damaged. All of the plastic covering should be clean and free of cracks, clean the inside of the cables connectors with wire brush, do the same to the battery posts. Install the fully charged battery. Make sure that all connection are clean and tight. Cover the terminals with Terminal Grease. Any one or all of these things can stop a car from starting. If all of that is perfect. Then the next part to check is the stater.

I have a 96 honda accord ex 2.7L v6... single *click* noise

Usually this is caused by bad connection on one of the Battery terminals. First thing to do is remove Bat terminals and clean them thoroughly Also check the connection of the big bat cables to the connector. They have a tendency to corrode and fail. If so new connectors are available at any auto supply.

When I turn the key to start the car, there is a ticking sound and the car won't start

Make sure your battery is fully charged. Also, make sure all your battery terminals and connections are clean and tight. If the vehicle still makes a clicking noise it is probably your starter solenoid. It is then probably time for a new starter.

1999 Honda Accord, 5 speed

It could either be a BAD starter or a BAD ignition they both would have the same symptoms of a "CLICK" alone. I would most likely lean toward the ignition because the key is difficult to turn but its not all ways true that key is tight because the ignition is bad, although possible. It could just mean a bad ignition cylinder(just the key part why its tight) I want you to do a test for me. With clutch engaged turn key to start position and listen for click on starter in the hood, when trying to start. If you hear starter click then the ignition switch is good. (Before you do this make sure that battery is FULLY CHARGED).STARTER IS AT FAULT. IF no clicking is heard coming from starter check starter fuse and if its good YOU have a BAD ignition switch. Contact if you need more hep and Thanks for using FIX YA

My Car Will Not turn Over

Sounds like you just need a jump. if that doesnt work and the battery is fully charged then you need to disconnect the wires from the battery and clean the cable hookups and the battery terminals. You can go to a auto parts store and get a terminal wire brush cleaner. Wire brush the terminals and the hookup till all the corrosion is off and then put some vasaline on the terminals and hookups to prevent corrosion later. Hook you battery back up and see if it will start.
