How do i know if my 1995 isuzu trooper is a single cam or dual cam?

gee guy, 3.1L or 3.2L?
you only need 3 things to time the distrib. static.
where is #1, its the most forward cylinder, LOOK carefully.
forward means closest to the cam drive end of engine.
not flywheel end.
rotor rotation direction (crank and watch it)
now the order, 3.2l v6? IS It? the single cam?

our 3.2 has no distrib V6 its DIS.






3.1L V6 USA spec. only. rotor is CCW

Connect a VOM to the wires set to AC volts. Crank the engine over, and it should read 0.2 to 2 VAC. Set the meter on ohms, and the meter should read 200 to 500 ohms between the terminals.

Code 42 is "Ignition Spark Timing". Either the engine (Cam/Crank) timing is off, or there is a problem with the ignition wiring, the ignition module or the engine control module.

has to be your wiring causing short ,or seat to far back and loading motor causing fuse to pop make sure seat not jammed in any way if not trace wiring back

the pulleys have notches in them to line up the timing

that motor should be a 3.2 litre... 6VD1 there are timing marks for the cams and crankshaft... one is to the left of the left cam... the other is to the right of the right cam.... and the marks for the crankshaft pulley are at the 9 and 3 position on a clock.

the 2.3 litre appears to be a single cam
