Sounds like you might have a 1:lose ground connection, 2: bad relays or 3: lose connection in the wiring. I copied your question and pasted in to Google search and found several problems with electrical system. I have 95 villager and its rad fan is having problems..... god luck to us both.
go here. we can help you. Also, did you check the headlamp relay in the box under the hood? One relay is in box in front of battery, other is in narrow box along passenger side fender under the hood. swap left & rt headlamp relays to see if it changes.
check/replace the starter relay switch in the relay box under the hood. The relay box is located on the front right of the engine compartment. easy fix, inexpensive part if that is the problem.
The diagnostic connector is located on the engine near the starter. However, there are four connectors in that location and without pictures it would be difficult to determine which is the proper one
