I have a 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0S. It has 45000 miles and it will not start every once in a while. Just sits there and cranks. If i keep turning it over and 4 or 5 times it will start. Nissan said it wasnt under warranty so im stuck figuring it out myself. One more thing i noticed the other day was the idle was dropping to almost stall when i would apply the brakes. If i set the emergency brake and take my foot off the brake it would idle ok. Stumped......cant find anything on it online.

I have a couple of thoughts apart from how strange it is Nissan only wants to repair cars that are under warranty. It is a wonder they have any customers at all.

It is normal for there to be a momentary change in engine note/speed when pressing the brake pedal but the change should not be sustained for two reasons.

Firstly pressing the brake allows a small amount of air into the engine intake via the brake booster but if it continues it could mean the booster has an air leak.

Secondly the engine management system is programmed to maintain a certain idle speed regardless of temperature or what load is applied by the alternator, power steering or air con. Perhaps there is a fault with the idle air system.

It isn't unusual for cars of a certain age to be reluctant to start sometimes but mostly opening the throttle part way before switching on and cranking the engine seems to overcome the problem.

SOURCE: Brake lights not working when you apply brakes

check the brake light switch.
It's usually up under the dash, and it activated by the brake pedal.

There are 2 wires going to it. To test it, jumper across the leads.
or, watch the "action" sometimes you just need to reposition the switch to get it to work.

SOURCE: Shake in steering wheel

I believe you need your disk brake rotors turned to be true again or have them replaced. Whe you use your brakes a lot and kit puddles of cold water then it will warp the rotors which will cause the violent shaking. You may not feel it in the brake pedal even if it is warped rotors. If you don't think you have warped rotors then you should be very careful driving it because it will probably be in the steering sector arm or the idler arm on the steering shaft.

SOURCE: 92 nissan sentra Stalls while idling

I had this kind of problem on my car a couple of times. It can either be the idle control valve or overheating. you can clean the idle control valve or replace it. the one for my car was like $140 at the dealership.

SOURCE: brake light, 2008 Nissan Sentra

Open the trunk and locate the trim door that covers the back of the drivers side tail light assembly. Open the door and locate the bulb holder. The bulb holder can be removed from the tail light assembly housing by turning counter clockwise 1/4 turn. Holding the bulb holder in one hand, press gently on the bulb and turn then bulb counter clockwise to remove. Replace with a combo bulb and reverse proceedure to re-install.

Where is ;the fuel filter on a 2007 Nissan Sentra. I am showing 104 miles until empty and approx. 1 mile from my home is starting cutting and and finally came to a stop and would crank for a half a second...

There is a fuel filter in the fuel tank. It is not sevicable. Your car could be dieing because of many diffrent things. It is almost immposible to tell over the computer. you would need to check fuel pressure and then spark. There is nothing that sounds famiailr about your car as compared to others of the same make and model. Sorry.

2006 sentra with 93,000 miles on it and it would not turn over yesterday. today was told the it cranks up fine. was told needs cam and crank sensors. does that sound right?

If starter was not engaging yesterday could be a starter or battery starting to go bad could have that problem again, cam and crank sensor will not stop the starter from turning the engine, the motor will not start up and just keep cranking.Hope this was very helpful.
