The starter is located on the back side of the engine under the intake manifold, it is bolted with 2 bolts one from the transmission side and one from the engine side, plus the big wire from the battery and the small spade connection from the ignition switch. Hope this helps, let me know.

1995 ford escort wagon ignition to starter wiring shematics

95 escort, automatic tranny
At the starter motor, two voltage circuits, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other voltage circuit goes hot with the key in the crank position and is wired through the neutral switch. The ground for the starter motor is through engine block, grounds are important.

Why can,t i bump start my ford escort? also the starter motor seems to be jammed.

If you cant push start your vehicle, AND the starter is locked up, then you MOST LIKELY have a locked up motor. You will have to replace the motor. BUT, before you spend all that money, i would try putting a new starter on the car first. I sure hope this helps, James Booth

1993 Ford Escort

this is a common problem because the ignition switc gets ;oose and in the process could have grounded under the steering column so just repair the wires to the starter motor and instal the new ign switch and you may end up replacing the starter motor also
