I have 2000 S type. In the mornings when I start the car it sort of shakes the car. ( it sound like it is miss timing) Once it warms up this goes away. No engine light but I have checked the coils all good. What could be the issue? I have only 110,000 km on the car.

When i start my car in the morning it shakes real bad and cuts off and putt putt but once it warm it runs good. plus check engine light is on

you need to find someone with a obd11 code reader to extract the fault codes that will give you clue where to look for the fault. if its a v6 petrol they have problems with ignition coils and/or spark plugs, the spark plug resistance on the centre electrode goes high and can upset the onplug coil and give those symptoms'

Sounds like a dead spark plug or faulty wire, or even out of time. Start with changing plugs. No change, do the wires. No change check the timing belt. It may have jumped a cog. As for the slow to warm up part, the misfire won't help that problem, but you may need to change the thermostat if it doesn't improve once you get it running on all cylinders.

Could be the VANOS Seals. You can buy them for 60.00 and it takes about 5 hours to do (but will save you a lot of money). Follow the steps at this site and you're good to go: http://www.beisansystems.com/

It sounds like the air bypass valve is not closing after warmup and this sounds like a temperature related problem. Air bypass is used much like the old choke on carburated cars for cold starts.
