I just reapir the overheating problem on my 2001 chevy silverado 5.3 2wd. I am still overheating...it is full of coolant...reservour is still at the fill line with GM dexcool coolant. The problem to begin with was the Quick disconnect broke on the heater side. Again It was repaired and still over heating. What could be the new problem

If it overheated i would replace the thermostant and gasket, also make sure its full of coolant, after replacing the thermostat you may have air in system so let it run until stat opens it may boil over a little until stat opens then it will **** coolant into block when that happens fill with coolant, you will need to let it idle for a while before new stat opens, hope this helps, good luck, i think the stat went bad the first time it overheated.

You could have a stuck thermostat or an air pocket in the cooling system.

Overheating 2000 chevy metro. no leaks, coolant is full.

Check out water pump for proper circulation of coolant. Radiator good? To avoid overheating use your heater full blast with open windows.

I have a 2001 Chevy silverodeo and when I turn on

Probably a heater core starting to leak(better take care of it now before it blows wide open!).You might be lucky enough to find a loose heater hose clamp/defective hose is allowing coolant to seep onto the core,so check that first.

2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z-71. Coolant loss with no noticeable puddles or wet connections.

First- When was the last time you checked it & it was full?
Second- Is a lot missing (1/2 gallon)?
Third- check the oil dipstick for any antifreeze in there or any white smoke from the exhaust, that would indicate a possible head gasket leak.
Fourth- Do you smell antifreeze inside the truck? Look for a small leak under the glove box in the dashboard for the heater core.
Hope this helps
