Take linkage loose and run wiper motor one turn. You've got the motor and linkage "out of time" .

Is there a reset switch on the windshield wipers on a Saturn 1998

Most manufacturers do not put reset switches on windshield wiper motors if they stopped working suspect a blown fuse or frozen wiper linkage, or bad motor. Also possible the linkage fell apart.

My windshield wipers stopped working they stopped in the middle of my windshield 2005 kia sorento

does the wiper arms move free if so the linkage assembly has come apart you have to take the plastic part under the windshield off along with the wipers arms to have access to the linkagage ,if the arms ar hard to move possible motor damaged or fuse burnt do basic first check fuses then do the process of elimination ,motor ,linkage good luck

I recently changed my wiper motor in my 2003 Hyandai Accent. Now the windshield wipers will not stop at the bottom. When I turn thw wipers on, it goes donw first then up then back and stops in the middle...

Remove the linkage from the wiper motor. Turn the wipers on then off. This will set the motor in the park position. Move the wipers by hand to there normal off position. Reinstall the linkage onto the wiper motor. The wipers should now park or stop in the correct position.

Windshield wipers park in the middle of the windshield when turned off. How do I correct this?

This is simple (none of the answers above were correct for me), but there was NO DOCUMENTATION to fix this. I couldn't find it anywhere on the NET either. You shouldn't need to replace anything. Your "eccentric" arm, that is directly connected to the motor, was reinstalled 90 degrees off. You need to unbolt the arm from the motor and rotate it 90 degrees to the proper position and reassemble. How?? Take off the motor/linkage cover and watch the linkage operate while someone turns the wipers on and off. Take note of the eccentric arm (bolted to the motor) when the wipers are at the bottom (where they SHOULD park). Then turn off the wipers and take note of the eccentric arm again. (with the wipers parked in the middle). Now you know where the arm IS and how you need to change it when you bolt it back on. Take out the assembly, loosen the bolt, and adjust to the proper angle and reassemble. This fixed mine the first time. (2004 Toyota Avalon).

2000 Saturn LS, windshield wipers park in the middle of the windshield. How can I fix this?

The wipers are parking in the middle because the timing mechanism is off. Once they start doing this it seems to continue to happen so the 1st suggestion is to replace the wiper motor. If U don't want to spend the $ right now it's a pretty easy fix to reset the timing. Park the wipers & remove the wiper arms. Then remove the plastic cowling that covers the wiper motor & the motor assembly. Turn the wiper assembly over without turning the motor. Remove the nut on the arm of the motor. Repostion the arm pointing away from the closet wiper directly inline with the short arm. reassemble.

Windshield wiper linkage 2005 saturn ion

Their is a solution to the common saturn ion windsheild wiper problems. A new improved version of the wiper linkage is available and it has aluminum pivots instead of plastic. The plastic pivots were the weekest point of that linkage. I bought one oat this link and put it in myself. Awesome product
