Our 2003 trailblazer has 63,000 miles. we have followed the scheduled maintenance and changed oil every 3000 miles. We have been told that we need to have the brake fluid, coolant system, front and rear differential fluids flushed. Does that sound reasonable?

I would do the coolant, but the others can go a lot longer.
The differential fluids should not be expensive, but the brakes can be expensive and not really warranted in my opinion.

The Transfer Case fluid has a recommended 50K miles replacement schedule and requires GM Autotrak II fluid. A brake fluid flush should not be expensive and can keep you ABS healthy.

I hace a 2003 trailblazer with 63,000 miles on it. Problem is I dont drive it very often and when I do the front brakes won't release all the way and get hot. What could be the problem.

Check your brake fluid. Chances are its pushing to much pressure. If you know how - Change your brake fluid. Could also have the wrong pad size.

I only suggest using factory tune up parts. Don't forget to set you tire pressure according to the driver's door sticker.

I did not get a vehicle scheduled maintenance guide with our used car, how often do we need to get the lube and oil and how often do we need to get tire rotation. we have a 2002 ford mustang.

Oil change every 3000 miles

air filter inspect every 3000 miles // less if you in the country
Change every 12,000 miles

There is nothing to lube on a modern day car!

Wheel bearing inspect every 12,000 miles.

Fuel filter 24,000 miles or less

Tire rotation is depending on are you a lead foot driver.
Keep tabs on the rear treads.
The rear wear faster on RWD car.
The idea is keep the wear even.

Shop around, some shop is offering free tire rotation with oil change!

I rotate my tires every 6000 miles.

Maintence required on red

Maintenance Required is a light that comes on after a predetermined number of miles. For example, if the maintenance schedule Honda set for the car calls for an oil change at 3000 miles, a new fan belt at 6000 miles, and another oil change at 9000 miles, then the maintenance required light will come on every 3000 miles and stay on until it is reset by the dealer. Some people, especially those that do their own regular maintenance but don't have a way to reset the light themselves, find this an annoyance. But others find it useful and take their cars in to the dealer every time the light comes on, and they rest assured that all of the regular maintenance is always done on time.

What this light does NOT do however is signal that there is anything immanently wrong with your car. It is not a "Check Engine" light (that's the one you should worry about if it ever comes on), but merely a reminder for you to do preventative maintenance. That doesn't mean you should *ignore* it, per se, as you want to make sure you have your car on some kind of maintenance schedule, even if yours is not as strict as Honda's. But there is no need to panic.

Toyota 4Runner/maintenance schedule at 140K miles

The maintenance schedule is an outline and should be followed if you want to keep your vehicle in good condition. the maintenance items listed in the schedule are performed at their set intervals for a reason. Manufacturers have found the wear limits on certain parts and those parts may need to be serviced or replaced at those intervals or catastrophic failures may result.

General maintenence

Use sludge protectant oils and change transmission fluid often. Do all the maintenance on time or before. Like differential fluids and etc. look in your service manual on what to do and do it in time.
