When I start up my 2006 Audi A6 (114K miles) we hear a loud zippiing noise from under the left side of the hood--it almost sounds like its near the driver-side wheel. Any thoughts on what this could be? It seems to lessen as the car warms-up. It's overdue for its 100K servicing but it drives fine.We have a 9/28 service date but want to know whether this is urgent. Thanks.;

oil type is either 5W-30W or 10W-30W depending how cold your climate is, as far as having the car properly taken care of, the Audi dealer is the best option, they have all the proper tools and service info needed to keep the car in top running condition.

Silly question: Have you checked the transmission fluid level, and is it to manufacturer's spec?

changing the engine sensor is easy when engine is cold and make sure you refill with antifreeze ,Buy sensor first so you know what to look for its not expensive from a motor factor .i honestly cant remember ever changing one on this model but it must be around the head area somewhere

I would first try getting the a/c system recharged. It can be a number of things, but having the system pressure checked is the first thing to check.

the oil light only comes on if either A) not enough oil pressure or B) not enough oil in the motor, caused by burning or a leak.
