I have a 2003 Honda Pilot, that is leaking oil?? and I can't find where it is leaking from. It is all over the wheel well of the driver's side and all over the underbody. I looked under the car just behind the wheel on the driver's side and there is a very porous/ rough metal pan-looking thing and there is a small triangular piece of metal missing from the top. Can you tell me what this particular piece is and could I be loosing oil from there? There is a round flat drain(?) in the middle of it, but it isn't like any other drain I've seen on a car. I am a woman, if you couldn't tell. - Thanks - Cheryl

Hello my name is Landon

The rough metal pan looking think is your oil pan this holds oil under the engine block. The piece you are missing is the cap i would get a new cap or check the oil pan to make sure it is tight on and no lose bolts also check for cracks.

Thanks,

Landon

SOURCE: 1990 honda accord lx oil leakage problem

I just had my cam shaft seal replaced and then they put a bracket to hold it in place, I have a 99 Honda Accord LX, they didn't start putting the brackets on until around 2000. My cam seal just popped out that's the purpose for the bracket.

SOURCE: Metal piece hanging in middle of undercarriage just behind wheels

It's likely the heat shield for the catalytic converter. There's really no repair for it. Mechanics won't usually spot weld it and they can't remove it. Apart from a little rattle now and then, there's really nothing to worry about.

SOURCE: how to replace cabin air filter in 2003 pilot

Step 1 Take everything out of the glove box on the passenger side. Squeeze the black clips on either side of the glove box interior to free it from its retainer and pull it toward you. It will glide forward on hinged arms. Lower it as much as possible so it's out of your way.

  • Step 2 Identify the gray plastic bar that runs from left to right across the bottom of the glove box opening. This is a piece of plastic molded to the rest of the glove box assembly, but it covers up a removable bar that is mounted directly in front of the cabin air filtermag-glass_10x10.gif case. You'll have to cut this plastic bar off with a razor knife to proceed. Fortunately, this isn't too difficult; just cut carefully and steadily, and make your cuts as close as possible to the ends of the bar.
  • Step 3 Remove the metal bar you uncovered in the previous step. It is screwed into the glove box assembly with Phillips head screws on either side.
  • Step 4 Open the cabin air filter case, which is the large plastic case on the left side off the glove box opening. The hatch will come all the way off when you open it.
  • Step 5 Take the old air filter out of the case and throw it away.
  • Step 6 Look at the arrows on the filter and the arrows on the filter case that indicate the direction of the air flow. Slide the new filter into place so that the arrows are both pointing the same way.
  • Step 7 Put the lid back on the air filter case and reinstall the metal bar you removed in Step 3.
  • Step 8 Push the glove box interior compartment back into place and listen for the snapping sound. Put the glove box contents back, close the lid and you're done.

Driver side front is making a noise on my 2003 honda pilot

Although "making a noise is a little vague" and you changed the bearings I assume the noise is rotational and changes with speed.
Only 2 months ago I had the same problem which I found to be the brake rotors. Examining them with the wheel off I could see the build up of rust on the outer diameter touched the brake calipers The cure, take a small hammer and bang the rust off, note the rotors were only a year old but I do live in the rust belt.

2003 Honda pilot door locks and remote not working

There is a small electric motor inside the actuator assembly that has probably "burned out". Same problem with my 03 pilot. The remote would not lock the other doors or arm the security system unless you physically locked the driver's side door. Eventually my passenger side burned out as well. Fixed it myself pretty easily. Cheap fix too. works like new now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/120935451126?var=420082237231&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Location of OBD port in 2007 Honda Pilot

should either be under the dash on drivers side, inside fuse box at end of dash on driver's side or maybe even behind the ashtray. I've seen cars with all of these. MOSTLY they are under the steering wheel.

    2003 Honda Pilot lighting problem

the driver's door has a switch which tells the multiplexer control unit that the door is open and the control unit then switches on the lights. It sounds like the switch is not making contact when the driver's door is open. The lights work and the other door switches work--so it isn't a fuse or multiplexer problem.
