I own a 1997 Cadillac Deville. Recently the speedometer started bouncing from 0-20 and reading out random mph's even when I am at a stop it will say im runnin a certain mph from 0-20. It doesn't show the correct mph everything else works. It shifts perfect also. Could it be a problem in the dash?

The instrument clusters are a known problem in these vehicles. Look for a rebuilder online. A rebuilt one runs little less than $200

SOURCE: 1995 honda accord speedometer and odometer not working

Sounds like either your speedometer cable, your nylon gear on the side of the tranny where the cable ties in, or the odometer itself is shot. One of those three will set you straight. If you are able, remove the cluster, take the cable off the back, and pull it out of the sheath. You will see if its broken or not from there. If not, slide it back into the sheath, then you have to find out where the sheath meets the tranny, and pull it off of there. Then, you can get someone else to watch the speedo as you turn the cable from the bottom. If it works, great, if not, then its your cluster/odometer/speedo. If it does work, the small gear in the transmission is shot.

SOURCE: changing the thermostat 2000 cadillac deville

The pressure they work within is usualy information on your radiator cap or owners hand book.Your thermostat should be a 180 degree but can vary The 180 is in reference to the heat required to open them so water can flow through and be kept at a more or less constant 180.There are other temp ranges for a wide variety of applications and 180 is the standard one for most vehiclesThe radiaor and water system is pressurised to lower the boiling point of the water The higher the pressure the lower the boiling point

Well I was going to say it sounds like a faulty transmission speed sensor, but the headlight circuit would not affect that.
Could be a short somewhere in the harness for the instrument cluster.

Why did my speedometer stop working and within minutes my 02 Cadillac Sts stalled and would barely accelerate?

The speedometer and odometer gets a signal from the speed sensor in the side of the transmission where the speedo cable once was.
The problem could be the speed sensor, or something in the wiring, or in the instrument cluster. Or it could be that the transmission is failing internally.

OK, I have this intermittent problem on my 1997 Cadillac Deville. Sometimes, when the engine is hot and sometimes when cold, the starter will click, (solenoid), but the starter will not turn over the engine at all. I have to toggle the ignition switch to the start position and to the ignition position several times to make it work. But, this only occurs intermittently for me, and I have never really gotten stuck more then a few minutes.

The solution, of course, is to replace the starter to get rid of the intermittent problem.

Is the speedometer showing '0' or is it just not displaying any numbers at all?

Good luck on this repair.

Could be a bad computer not supplying right fuel injector pulses. This happened to my 1990 cadillac deville at about 35 mph, it would buck and miss.
Also, I would flush the coolant system and install new coolant.

1997 Cadillac DeVille Struts

Sounds like the struts. Probably cheapest and least hassle in future to replace them with a passive system, like Suncore, Strutmasters or Arnott industry shocks.

Does a 92' cadillac sedan deville top out at 85 mph like it says on the speedometer?

Unless your car has a governor installed on it (doubtful) your car will do more than 85mph. At various time the government in its infinite wisdom has set limits on what the speedometer can read as a way to discourage drivers sppeding and from seeing what their car can do as far as top speed. I mean what's the point of burying the speedometer and holding it when you can no longer tell how fast you are really going.
