Jeep has been having a problem with this. i take it u have a 4.7L or a 3.7L. when the when to fix this problem they should of replaced all the valves (intake and exhaust). theres a tsb on this and the dealer can look it up. even if you paid for the service they will fix it for free cuz it wasn't fixed the first time. take it back to the them and tell the to read the tsb and fix it right.
Here are the most common causes of idle surge, rough idle esp when cold, other symptoms include stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake

I am also experiencing rough idle on my 06 commander. You say there is a TSB available. Can I look this up and bring it to my dealer. Because I am a women they seem to blow me off when I have a problem. I am also having trouble with my windshield whistling quite loudly at times. I see many people have had problems with this but my dealer says I am the first ever to complain.
My 2006 4.7 liter Jeep Commander Rough idles and kind of bounces at stop lights its so rough has a NASCAR feel to it. I took it to the dealer (before I hit the 36K mark) they said they didnt notice. What is this TSB thing?
