Well, not knowing what we are working on makes it a bit difficult to tell you yes or no. Some vehicles do have an inertia switch that kills power to the fuel pump in an accident. Most cars have a relay that sends power to the pump, and most cars have a signal that activates the relay.
Did you repressurize the system after replacing the fuel pump? THIS IS THE MOST COMMON ISSUE. You must cycle your ignition switch from OFF to ON several times before first start after depressurizing the system;
Has the vehicle been bumped hard, violently jarred, or in an accident? RESET THE INERTIAL SAFETY SWITCH;
Are you getting correct fuel pressure? If not, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
If the alternator is not charging the fuel pump wont run either. This is a safety feature so in case there is an accident the fuel pump wont run. Fix the alternator and you'll be good to go.
Some vehicles have an impact switch that shuts the fuel of, in event of an accident, give your Honda dealer a call they should be able to tell you how to activate it
More than likely the fuel pump is defective unless you have been in an accident and that is when it stopped working, in that case reset the fuel pump cutoff switch
did you install the oil pressure switch origional to the tahoe? The tahoe uses a low oil pressure shutdown, instead of an inertia switch to shut off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. If the pressure circuit does not close within 3 seconds after the engine starts the fuel pump shuts off. This is in case the truck is on its side or upside down the pump will shut off.
this vehicle is equiped with a fuel safty shutoff valve in case of an accident it shuts the fuel pump off sometimes this switch malfunctions and is actually a common problem lokk into this i think it might help
Fuel pump is located inside your fuel tank.Sometimes if you have involved in an accident there is automatic shut off switch that will kill the fuel pump operations and prevent fire durring accident.Chek your manual for fuel pump shut off switch. Sometimes is located in the Trunk or in front of vehicle on driver side under dash on left side panel.
there is no fuel pump cut off switch on this car, it is possible the fuel pump module was damaged from this accident, u will have to have the fuel pump circuit tested for faults before replacing the pump, don't guess, this is an expensive repair
