96plymouth neon blown fuel pump fuse - 1996 Plymouth Neon

Fuel pump died? Check the fuse again. If it is blown. It could be the pump or a bad wire to the pump. I would guess a wire.

1st possible reason is that there was insufficient fuel to pump and the gears are damaged
2 fuel pump relay is not being activated by the pressure regulator switch
3 blocked filter
4 immobiliser is not allowing power to relay or pump
5 blown fuse for the pump system

What is no help ?

Surely you know what a fuse is for !

Replacing a blown fuse won't fix a thing

Have to diagnose the fuel system electrical,
to find a problem

Replaced the fuel pump why?
Was it tested & failed ?
No Fuel Pressure?

It's either the fuel pump having the problem or you have short in the electrical wiring going back to the pump. Make sure the fuse is the proper size for the fuel system. Hope this will help you.

If it is working for a time and just blowing once in a while you probably need to replace the fuel pump. If it blows as soon as you put it in, then look for a short circuit in the fuel pump wiring.

Check your fuel pressure.
Possible fuel pump malfunctioning, check the fuel pump fuse and realey.
Check your ignition .

Usually if a fuse blows when applying something else( brakes) indicates they are on the same circuit. Verify the brake lights don't work when the fuse is out or blown. If lights still are working then it's probably not related. If on same circuit then the extra load of the brakes is enough to blow the fuse. Insure you are putting in the correct fuse. Also, this indicates you fuel pump is in a strain either due to restricted fuel filter or worn pump. Replaceing the fuel filter now will only buy you a little time before the pump goes on out. It's blowing fuses because it's drawing more amps in order to run, but always replace filter when replacing pump.

Start by checking for a wire shorting to ground if that checks good you will need to go thru the circuit and check the amp draw at each component, fuel pump,ignition coil,ect. until you find the bad part

check the fuses.......had same problem, blown fuse to the ignition or fuel pump. Changed and fired right up.
