For the last 20 years of so, cars made for sale in the U.S. have an interesting emissions component.
That is, there are two sensors that screw into the engine block that detect the heat of the engine coolant.
In some cars these are even the same part, but have different tasks.
1) this sensor detects the engine temperature to operate the electric fan by the radiator.
If this sensor fails, it can cause the electric fan to not turn on when it is needed, and can cause damage to the engine from overheating.
2) This sensor is hooked to the computer and the temperature gauge to tell the computer when the engine is warmed up.
If this sensor fails, it can cause the symptoms you list.
What is happening is, with the sensor malfunctioning, it is like the old fashioned "hand choke" of 100 years ago, that you would adjust when the engine warmed up.

My fuel pump on my 1998 Lincoln Continental has no power. I checked the fuse it is good. I checked the fuel shutoff switch it was fine. I have traced the wire from the fuel shutoff switch to the fuel module driver in the trunk. The wire has power. I have also traced the positve wire from the fuel pump to the fuel driver on a different terminal, this wire has no power from the pump. I also changed the fuel driver, the low fuel pressure switch, the alternator, and battery.does anyone have any suggestion's?

It is either along the frame rail, probably drivers side under car follow the metal fuel line or it is in the gas tank right at the fuel pump, either requires removing tank or carpet inside trunk to get to access panel, but your problem is probably not fuel filter, with todays clean fuels fuel filters are a problem of the past, used to be a easy fix but that is why they hide them now because they are usually good for life of vehicle, 1999 is not old enough to make difference in this situtation.

answer , very carefully ...
drain coolant , remove and mark all vacuum lines , make a schematic to diagram your hose routing, disconnect and plug all fuel lines, remove distributor and mark location of rotor, disconnect battery, remove any necessary cables, brackets and or accesseries, remove intake mounting bolts, note length of bolts and reference location, pry up on intake , remove intake, scrape old gasket off , must be very clean to reinstall new gasket or you will cause a leak..

The diagram is under the hood near the radiator. If the factory sticker has been removed then a $25 repair manual at your local parts store will answer that and many more questions, well worth the cost, I get one for every car I own or intend to do much work on.
