A common issue are the boards that the tailights and brake light bulbs plug into But you may want to check and make sure that all your other parking lights come on just to make sure a fuse didn't blow on you. Before doing anything else with the boards check those particular bulbs out to make sure didn't burn out on you.

SOURCE: left blinker light stays on solid when headlights are on

I have had this happen and it is rare, but I have had a filiment burn out in a two filment buld and short to the other filiment. It does happen and I think this might be your problem, the only way to find it is a visual inspection of each bulb. I am sure many people will think this is crazy, but I have had the exact same problem, I had the schematics, tested the circuits, etc. and them by accident found a stop/blinker 1157 bulb that had done this exact thing. I hope this helps you, check the bulbs in your headlights also.

SOURCE: left rear tail lights/ blinker will not come on

Blinker too fast, the same side blinker light bulb on the front (or back) is burned. Check the fuses for the rear lights. You might have a light bulb filament stuck.

Ok i have a 1995 sonoma highrider and im suspecting a bad relay for my tail lights because when i turn on my blinker on the left or right side and hold the brakes the tail lights dim out and the indicator...

dimming lights are a usually a ground issue. find all the body grounds loosen them give them a good wiggle or clean them with sand paper then tighten them back down.20 years to slowly corrode
i'd start there. relays are just low draw electro magnets that contact to allow high draw current thru......they either work or they dont.

Can not get my tail lights to work onk 1989 gmc truc

The front park lights work correct? If the front park lights work than there is not a problem with the light switch since the brown wire from the switch supplies power to the front park lights, front side markers, and the rear taillights. There should be twelve volts on the brown wire from the headlight switch with the connector plugged in and the park lights turned on. If this is true that there is a problem with the wiring to the back of the vehicle. A thorough inspection of the harness should reveal the problem. The dim break and blinkers support the above. High resistance also know as corrosion, in the wires or connections would cause this problem.

check for a bad ground wire for the tail lights. You are looking for a black ground wire near the bottom of the left rear corner of the car, inside. you may need to take the trim panel off to find it. if you take out the left tail light you should be able to follow the harness to where the black wires come out and a terminal is screwed to the body. turn on the hazard lights and when you get near the problem the lights will brighten and dim.

Check the grounds on the tail light sockets. If necessary re-ground them using a separate wire attached to a clean spot on the chassis.

Almost certainly a bad earth in your left hand rear light somewhere.
Clean the earths up REALLY well, ( like silver shiny metal ) and put a new end on the wire to be sure.
You can test it by grounding one end of an extra wire on a really good contact point on the chassis and getting someone to hold the other end on the common earth contact for your rear left blinker, stop light, reverse light and tail light while you try it again.

Definitely not getting a proper earth somewhere.

I have also seen a whitish corrosion on the bottom of the bulb itself, and in it's socket, cause the exact same symptoms.

If there is evidence of water in the taillight lens, go for the bulbs and their sockets first. Clean, clean, clean.
