All gm vehicles from 97-2005 have a theft system called the passlock system. (how to deactivate system on chevy malibu) turn key on engine off, let it stay on for at least 10 minutes, then turn ignition off, take out key from ignition switch. after 1 minute start the car. you can also go to tubesound.com to disable system for good. --tubesound.com/passlocksystem. ( just type in the problem when page comes up ). have a good day!! vehicle will not start with system blinking. it thinks its being stolen.
I tryed using that deactivation on tubesound it works only when the car is running it will not shut down. But i still have the problem when shuting my car down sometime it starts sometimes it doesn't.
yes on mine too i disabled it still car will not start always my dash gagues sometimes wont work then it won't start\
i HAD A 2001 Malibu that the anti theft would kick in if I started the car too quickly(not wait for the fuel pump to run), I found that if you turn the key to OFF wait a second or 2, then turn the key to run(NOT START), wait until the anti-theft light goes out(about 10 minutes), turn the key off then the car would then start normally.
