2004 Volvo C70 convertible - passenger side visor bracket/hinge is broken and needs to be replaced. When this happened to the drivers' side I replaced it through Volvo but as mentioned in these blogs it cost $200+...I also removed the light bulbs from the visors as the battery went dead. There must be some place to buy the vosir for a little less???

If you have thoroughly done your research, and I believe that you have, then it's time to hit the local junk yard. I can be tortuous and /or rewarding. Tow yards are a good place to look for fresh road kill but most totaled units go to salvage for the insurance company fairly quickly.

remove the fuse for the vanity light and look to aftermarket companies for the visors as there may be something else out there b etter than oem but overall volvos are the best engineered vehicles on the road buy a vw if you want that proven

usually when the visor break, three things you can do, one is to take it apart( the arm of the visor) slowly and look for a broken plastic part pieces which you can superglue it back together, if the broken plastic peice is not still there and missing then you will have to replace it with the new one. Junkyard or ebay may carry some used. Dealer wont be that expensive either. 3rd, take the lens off and remove the bulb from the visor, this way it wont drain the battery. To hold the visor up you can try to find a velcro tape from auto parts store, by taping one side of the visor and the other top of the roof that way when you fold it up the velcro will stick to one another. this will be a temporary fix.

there are as far as i know no repair parts for visor other than a new visor. a simple job two or three screws and unplug a wire.
