It maybe you are getting the wrong fuel pump from the parts store and that is the problem i just replace the fuel pump in my daughter Ford Explorer in 2008 and again about a mouth ago it had a bent gas line and it was causing the fuel pump to work hard give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your van wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

2008 Pt Cruiser stalls randomly, usually starts right back up. No trouble codes, not overheating, replaced fuel pump. It just acts like it's run out of gas (no, it's not out of gas either). I pull...

I suppose you have done the obvious things like clean the battery terminals and make sure they are tight. Check the alternator for output as an intermittent low charge rate will upset the cpu performance. Check the connector for the fuel pump as the wire may be loose and causing a problem in the fuel pump. Is the idle rpm around 900 or a lot slower say 600rpm. Try writing down all the things going on when it happens. slope.- hot day-lights on-noises foot on brake- ac on. For example if the idle speed is low and the ac compressor cuts in then the engine will stall. If the battery has a failing cell and the lights are on then there may not be enough power from the alternator at low idle to supply all the power needed to run the cpu. Think of all that is going on and there will emerge a common area that will point to the fault.

2008 sienna, How do you check a fuel pump with no test port for fuel pressure check on the vehicle.

No solution here, but wondering what your next step was...I think the same thing happened to me, but wanted to check the fuse at least before I have my van towed to some mechanic in Italy. Did you locate the fuse? Which box and was it labeled something other than fuel pump?

No fuel pump voltage 2008 chevy colorado pickup

WHAT DOES WORK ? WHEN YOU WASH DOWN ENGINE YOU NEED TO COVER/WRAP/ ENCLOSE ELECTRICAL ITEMS !!! COIL, ALTERNATOR, DISTRIBUTOR, CONTROL MODULES, ETC., OTHERWISE, YOU'VE GROUNDED OUT YOUR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM !!! USE COMPRESSED AIR TO BLOW OUT ALL MOISTURE FROM THESE ITEMS MENTIONED. POWER FOR FUEL PUMP SYSTEM COMES FROM BATTERY, TO A JUNCTION BLOCK TERMINAL, WHICH HAS FUSIBLE LINKS WHICH ACT LIKE FUSES,, TO PROTECT EACH SYSTEM . DON'T KNOW IF THATS YOUR PROBLEM , BUT STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED ! FUSIBLE LINK LOOKS LIKE A HEAVY GAGE WIRE, BUT COULD BE A SINGLE STRAND OF WIRE INSIDE INSULATION ! NEED TO BE REPLACED IN LIKENESS !!! YOUR VEHICLE NEEDS TO DRY OUT ! MAYBE I'M ALL WET ? BUT CHANCES FAVOR THE PREPARED MIND !!! YOU NEED TO UNDO WHAT YOU DID , MAKES SENCE, YES ? ITS WHEN YOUR PROBLEM CAME TO BE ! OTHERWISE, INSPECT EVERY WIRE IN THE FUEL PUMP CIRCUIT, ESPECIALLY THE GROUND WIRES !!! THEY ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE POWER WIRES, WITH OUT QUESTION ! YOUR RELAY GOT BACKSPLASHED LOOK HOW MANY WIRES GO THERE ! IT ALSO HAS ITS OWN FUSE. THINK I COVERED IT, GOOD LUCK , YOU JUST MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM AND NOT REALIZE IT TILL IT STARTS !

2000 lincoln continental screams when started what's wrong.

It's probably one of the belts that is defected or needs to be replaced. When are car screams when being started 99% of the time it's a belt. Try that and see what happens

Hard to start after sitting for20 minutes or so have to turn over several times and also put foor on the accelerator. Engine starts fine first thing in the a m

Hello
In my 25 years of experience I've really only seen few things that cause this, one is that the built in pressure check valve in the outlet of the in tank electric fuel pump leaks, this causes the fuel in the line and filter to flow back into the tank, this creates a void in the fuel line, the pump must fill the line and filter back up before pressure builds and the engine starts and runs smoothly, based on your description of when this happens I would say that is the problem with your truck. The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank, you must remove the tank from the truck or pull the truck bed off to replace the fuel pump. If you replace the pump make sure you also replace the fuel filter or the new pumps warranty will be void. I have a parts site that i order from on line, they are MUCH cheaper than local sources and only sell high quality aftermarket replacement parts as well as ACDelco and other OEM parts. My 2003 Saturn Vue won't start if the engine is not cold. In the morning it starts but if I go out and try to drive a few hours later it won't start until I get off work

Without knowing if there are more things happening, noises, clicks, whirr sounds, or even how hard you drive it...

It typically sounds like a bad or clogged fuel filter... Although I've had some cars do this in the past, once they were heated up and had to wait an hour ow two to start again... that generally meant the fuel pump needed to be replaced.

This is called a Vapor Lock... and try as you might, they will not start

So, before you start going through quite a few external sensors, idle air control motors and egr valves and etc, etc at 85 dollars a pop...

Considering changing the FUEL filter and pour a bottle of gas drier in your fuel tank. You could have some condensation in your fuel and it may be as simple as that.

However if this dont help or the problem starts happening again, I would replace the fuel pump.

Good Luck and Happy Motoring

My smart fortwo cdi engine stopped. There is no fuel pressure if I disconnect the fuel line from the filter. Does it have an el. fuel pump, because I can't hear any noise? Thanks!

hi, i;ve never worked on one of these, but, it must have an electrical fuel pump. the easiest way to check this is to jack the car up and look up under the rear and near the fuel tank. these pumps are INLINE meaning FUEL PIPE IN THE CENTRE (IN) arrowed toward the engine and FUEL PIPE IN THE CENTRE (OUT). these have 2 conectins IGNITION FEED and GROUND. if you switch on ignition and NO FUEL. then NO IGNITION FEED / RELAY / BAD CONNECTION / NO EARTH / COMPLETE DISCONECTION / FUEL PUMP BLOCKED / FUEL PUMP (INTERNALALLY OPEN CIRCUIT pump needs replacing). i hope this has helped. gerry
