Mitsubishi uses a square block fuse for its alternator . Usually it is under the hood in the fuse box , sometimes it is part of the positive battery clamp. If this fuse blows even though the battery is good and the alternator is working perfectly, the battery will discharge and the charge light on the dash will not tell you. You will drive until the battery goes dead and the car stops. Take a flash light and check all the fuses under the hood till you find the block fuse for the alternator. If it is blown , replace it and your problem should be solved. It is real easy to blow the fuse if you short the power at the back of the alternator to ground ( an alternator installation, where the battery cable is not unhooked).

Why is my 04 kia not running. Every time I turn the key it keeps clicking

Your battery is low/dead. Charge or replace the battery. Maybe your altenator has died or the belt is loose on it and has caused your battery to die. Also possible that the battery's cables are loose and do not allow the altenator to charge it.

Why won't the newly installed altenator work on the 2006 Ford Taurus? The cars gauges stopped working and a red icon was lit up on the dash (appeared to be the check engine light) when the car was moving....

as its a used part it may not be in working order , check the charge rate by putting volt meter across the battery terminals when engine running , the reading should be around 13.5 -14 volts , if not then check the alternator belt is tight enough and retest the charge if lower than 12 volts then the alternator is useless , a non charging alternator will give the symptoms you've described, th ered icon is the non charging warning light , dont drive if the check is low as will ruin your battery as well, take alternator off and get a lift back to the supplier , best to by new

Saab 93 1.9 tid warning battery not charging car died whilst driving charged battery at home car now starting lights all out is this battery prob or alternator?

The easiest way to check is with the car running, disconnect the positve side of the battery, if the car dies, then it is the altenator, if the car keeps running then it is the battery. If you have a volt ohm meter, check the chrge going to the battery you should get between 12 and 14 volts if it is lower than 12 you have an altenator issue. the altenator should always produce enough to charge the battery and run the car at the same time, if not then the battery wears down.

Battery died (or not). When I give it a jump, the car starts, but as soon I remove the jump cable, car turns off.. What could be the issue>

Your issue is indicating two problems. First let's talk about how your charge system works so that you can see what happened. The battery is there to start the engine. At the point the engine starts, the alternator takes over and provides power to the engine and also charges the battery for the next time you start your car. If the alternator fails to work, the engine runs solely off the battery. The car should have indicated that the charge system is not working, maybe you saw a battery light on your dashboard. After some time, the battery is depleted and will not start the car or be able to run the engine. So it appears that you have a defective alternator, and also your battery is either discharged, or is also bad. When you hook up your car to jumper cables, you are running off of your buddy's charge system/battery, so when you disconnect them, your car dies.

well Marie the reason your vehicle is acting this way is because even though you put new battery in you still have to have a viable altenator to run the vehicle. the battery is only used to start the vehicle and run the radio and lights and other accessories. while the vehicle is running the altenator is not only suppose to charge the battery but it is suppose to supply the amprage to energize and coolapse the coil to give the vehicle spark. a bad altenator while driving doesn't charge the battery it drains it . a quick check is to have the vehicle running and then remove the positive battery cable if it dies you know it's the altenator.... please rate this and good luck keep me posted
