I have a buick rendezvous '04. The glove box won't close because the latch on the dashboard side is broken. Apparently the metal loop that the door locks on has broken free of the internal housing. How can I get inside to fix it or replace it. Again this is not on the door. It is the dashboard housing. Thank you.

Salvage yard is your best bet to find the latch, and most likely the cheapest, I dought you can get one from a dealer being that old, you can also try National parts depot, or Original parts groupe, or Year one, they might have it. There might be other buicks that will interchange or other G.M. products.

SOURCE: Driver side power lock will lock but not unlock

The only way to really see the problem is by removing the door trim panel. This will allow you to see if is the actuator is moving, and how far, along with noting any interference of lock linkage movement. Hope this helps.

I accidentally closed the rear hatch on some sort of wire and now I can't get the hatch open again. I am unable to pull the piece of wire that it closed on out. How do I fix this? Thanks so much.!

Here's what you can try to open the hatch of your 2004 Buick Rendezvous:

Open the hatch and slip a screwdriver's shaft into the opening of the latch (simulating that the latch has engaged the metal bar on the floor of the SUV).

Apply pressure in the latch via the shaft of the screwdriver. While pulling against the latch, operate the unlock button of the fob or unlock with the key (whichever your truck has) .

If this doesn't work, you may want to consider taking your car to a professional mechanic or a Buick dealership for further assistance. But here is video on how to remove a window, if that servers any help. Door Window Removal And Installation Buick Rendezvous (youtube.com)

Door will not close onmy 2000 truck

Chances are the lock is engaged in the closed position. Look at lock on side of door where the latch assembly is. If the metal loop is engaged it will not close the door. Lift handle and push down the metal loop until it is in the unlock position

How to open a glove box door when the latch is broken on

check under the glove box door to see if you can see the hinges. Sometimes you can unscrew the hinges from the bottom. Else you have to knock out the hinge pin on both hinges, open the door from the bottom and see if you can swing the door up to undo the latch.
If this does not work, cut a hole in the bottom ot the glove box, it is usually made of plastic or papier mache, release the latch from inside, then you can remove the plastic box once it is open and replace it with a new one. It will cost you, but it will be less expensive that breaking down the metal door!

Glove box door flaps all the way down when I open the glove box.

Look up inside the right or left side of the dash where the glove box closes. There should be a screw that holds stop your talking about. Re attatch it. Unscrew the screw. If broke then use a small nylon strap n secure it to that screw n to the place on the inside of the glove box door.

How can I chage the A/C filter on Accent 2007?

Remove the Phillips-head screws and the 10mm bolts that attach the glove box insert to the dash. Pull the release tabs on the glove box door travel stops and release the glove box door from the glove box. Slide the glove box insert out. Remove the lower dash trim panel on the passenger side of the dashboard.Remove the old HEPA filter by depressing the locking tabs on the filter cover located on the front of the plastic evaporator case located directly behind the glove box. Then slide the filter carefully, out and down, to prevent knocking the dust that has been captured by the filter into the evaporator case or onto the carpet.Install the new filter by sliding the new filter into the evaporator case. The new filter is labeled to indicate the direction it should be installed into the evaporator. Push it completely into the case, and close the cover until the latches snap into place.Reinstall the glove box insert and attach it to the dashboard using the original screws and bolts. Insert the door travel stops into their slots and push the door closed. The stops will automatically snap into place. Reinstall the lower dashboard trim to complete the project.
