Are all the clutches on the 92 mighty max hydrolic? yhe reason I ask is on the backside my hood there is a diagram of the brake reservoir and right next to it is a reservoir for the clutch. However, on the actual engine there is no clutch reservoir. Is there just regular cable clutches also?

Hi,

Not usually these models all had hydraulic master cylinders for the clutch, if there is a master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder then that will be the clutch master cylinder and it will be hydraulic.

Thanks

Jason

How do i bypass clutch safty switch on 92 mitisbishi mighty max

There should be a switch on the arm of your clutch pedal. If it is a two wire switch, the wires can be cut and twisted together. This is a safety feature and should not be done.

Clutch will not disengage

You should have a hydrolic system that is operated with a clutch slave(on the side of the trans) it could be leaking fluid or a clutch master cylinder under the hood next to the firewall. Check the reservoir and see if it is full with brake fluid. If not look to see if the clutch slave or the clutch master cylinder is leaking. Replace and bleed the system just like you would your brakes.

No clutch peddel. will go in gear and pull if eng ine is off. enough peddel to keep car from moving , can not shift.

check that there is fluid in teh clutch reservoir under the hood.

if you pop hte hood on the drivers side (right side) of the engine in the back right corner of the engine bay you will see two fluid reservoirs each wwith a grey cap. the one closer to the front of hte car is the brake fluid, behind it is for the clutch. It should be filled between the min and max lines printed on teh side. you fill the reservoir with dot3 brake fluid. It is important that you don't let any contaminates or water get into the fluid so most people try to use a fresh botle every time they top it off.

after that you really should have yoru ****** fluid changed or at least inspected for proper fill amount.

My clutch pedal is extremely soft, and has started to stay on the floor. Is there something that I can do to rectify the situation until I can get it to my mechanic? Help!

Honda uses hydrolic clutches. Pop the hood and there should be a reservoir of "clutch fluid" (clutch systems use brake fluid) next to the brake fluid reservoir. It will be marked DOT 3 just fill that up with brake fluid and you'll be good to go.

Under the hood, the reservoirs.

If your vehicle is a stick shift, likely it's the master cylinder for the clutch. stick your finger in there and see if it smells and feels the same as what's in the brake master. If it appears low, check where the clutch rod goes into it in the drivers side of the firewall. If you find some fluid there its leaking. (also check line and slave cylinder that works the clutch) Could also be steering fluid but I've never seen them put that there.

Need the valve gap for 1991 mighty max

Does not have adjustable valves . It has hydrolic valve lasher's . they are spring loaded ( i believe ) . I just replaced them in mine . valve giude seal's where worn out causing it to smoke realy bad ( looked like a mosqito truck ) and the valves where ticking , due to the hydrolic valve lash adjuster's being worn out . They are about $ 8 - 10 buck's each at advance .

Clutch pedal too hard too push in 94 might max

Bad presure plate. The clutch is made up of two parts, the clutch disk and the presure plate. as the vehicle gets older the pressur plate can bend making it imposible to push the pedal in. This is very common if your vehicle has a clutch cable as compared to a hydrolic clucth but happens with both just the same. The solution is replace the clutch.
