HELP please!! My daughter has a 96 sebring convertible and today she put her key in the door to unlock it and the alarm started going off. It wont stop, have disconnected the positive and negative battery cables, but when re attached, alarm is still going and car wont start because of it. We dont have a remote for this car, what can we do? Its most frustrating to have a good car just sitting and nothing to drive now.

I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Coupe and the alarm kept going off whenever I got in the car. Turns out the trunk wasn't closed properly. I opened the trunk and the alarm went off. I closed it solidly and it hasn't happened since. HOWEVER, the passenger door won't lock or unlock from the outside with the key. The key turns left and right but doesn't catch on anything. Any suggestions?

Just a quick note once you hook the battery back up try locking it and unlocking it from the drivers door, if that fails you might try the passenger door. I know on some chrysler products you have to lock and lock again to arm and unlock to disarm. I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Joey

You can try putting everything back as it was, then lock and unlock the driver's door with the key.
Otherwise you may have to visit the dealer.

1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible electrical issue

Start testing the lighting circuits with a ohm meter for shorts. Sometimes it's impossible to get to the wires without taking the entire car apart. Never do this, instead find a good part of the circuit with your ohm meter
and make a connection there with a new wire.
More common is switch issues or loose connectors.
Obtain a shop manual for your model and refer to the electrical parts section.
Don't worry about the cost of the shop manual, it will pay for itself.

My 2001 sebring wont start. I turn the key and it

you could very have a transponder key that has failed to let the circuit complete to start the car. check that with your local locksmith. also try to unlock your doors manually with key , on the driver side and turn to unlock at least three times, i know it sounds stupid but your car has a passive alarm built in that will prohibit it from starting sometimes because it was designed so well.:) good luck.
