How do you change the cabin filter on a 2007 Lincoln MKX

  • Michael Gambosi

Global 1207 is spot on with his help. Just did mine last weekend. Only thing I would add is that there is a tiny string cable on the right side of glove box inside that is hooked to some kind of spring in a tube behind glove box that lets glove box just not slam open. This must be disconnected from the glove box first. My access door to the filter had the real ease tab on the left hand side not the right.

The filter is behind the glove box. Remove the glove box door, squeeze the upper rear corners inward. The door will come forward, and lift it completely off. There is a release tab on the right side of the filter access door. Open that and remove the filter.

The above comment pretty much has it. Just replaced mine a few weeks ago. Only thing I would say is that there is a thing spring loaded cable you must release on the right side of the glove box before removing it. My tab for the access door to the filter was on the left side of access door.

SOURCE: how often should transmission fluid and filter be

Your owners manual has a schedule of maintenance in it.
Personally I would change trans fluid/filter at 50K unless you tow or qualify as severe service user. Check fluid monthly. Pay attention for leaks. Fluid should not be cloudy in color. Water will make fluid cloudy.

Where is cabin air filter located on 2007 lincoln m k x ?

You have to remove the glove box to get to it. First disengage the string/pulley from the right side of the glove box (just push the tab thru the hole), then using a long screwdriver, pry the plastic catchs on each side of the glove box so they will clear the dash plastic. Now the glove box will just hang loose, or fall down. The filter is not the white piece of fabric attached to the glove box, this is just noise baffle. To get the filter out, press the tab with the little arrow on the left side of the black cover. Now you can see the cabin filter. Don't buy one from Lincoln for $40, Discount Auto Parts has them for about $16.

Good Luck. Email me at [email protected] if you have any problems.

How often do I change the oil in my new Lincoln MKX ...every 2000 km or every 5000 km?

The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.
