I was told by the dealer that the 2003 CTS has plastic valve covers and they warp. To cure the leak you need to replace the valve cover.

Check front crankshaft seal from under car, see if you see oil coming out of back of pulley.

SOURCE: How to clean out clogged sunroof drains?

Get some flexible (not solid core) single core electrical cable of a slightly smaller diameter to the drain hole and ease it into the drain hole. Don't force it just gently ease it in. If that doesn't work you can sometimes use an airline to blow it out.

2003 cts smells like its on fire

I had the same problem. The dealership said it was a dirty cabin air filter. An ace mechanic diagnosed it as a very small oil leak from the valve cover gasket heating up as it ran down the side of the engine. We replaced the gasket and the intermittent burning smell disappeared.

Oil smoke.coming from both sides of engine

Check your rocker cover gaskets for any signs of oil leaks. Oil leaking from your engine can contact the exhaust headers, or other hot parts of the engine and can burn, resulting in smoking and a burning smell.

Oil leaking on engine smoke coming into car.

Check that the valve cover gaskets are leaking. If they are, then replace them.
Also, check where the oil is coming from and replace any seals or gaskets that are
causing smoke to come into the car.

Oil leak unknown exact source but near top of engine

Hello: Check the back/side of the valve covers, they are bad to cause an oil leak, be sure to install new rubber wedges when you do the job.

There is a oil leak on driver side of engine leaking on exhaust. doesnt appear to have water in the oil or anything. any suggestions what the problem is

Check the valve covers, oil pump or head gaskets. Just because there is no water in the oil, doesnt have anything to do with a oil leak, unless you are noticing white or blue smoke out of the exhaust
