have your alternator checked. your chevy is probably running on the battery which is probably only receiving a particle charge from the alternator. I had a chevy did the same thing when ever the alternator was going out.
Dirty trans filter,stickey trans solinoid,or your torque converter is not unlocking.If you can due it yourself try running some trans flush then replace the filter.
Run 12V directly to the motor and see if it will run, if it dosent than the motor is bad, if it does than the resister is bad, the resister makes the blower run and also regulates the speeds for the blower, but chanses are if it was making a high pitch squeel before it quit the motor went out.
