Fiat punto cooling fan not working. Overheating

To remove the water pump of Fiat Punto/Stilo:
1 Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2 Drain the cooling system.
3 Remove the timing belt.
4 Unscrew the retaining nut and the three bolts and withdraw the coolant pump (see illustration). If the pump is stuck, tap it gently? using a soft-faced mallet - do not lever between the pump and cylinder block mating faces of Fiat Punto (Stilo).

Based on P0480 I'd check cooling fan is working

go to auto shop and look at their chillton manual on it or find your fuse box it may tell you.

you have 1 of 2 possible problems. it will be either the fan switch is shot or the fan speed resistor is shot

Hi, If it's over heating replace your thermostat. That is at the upper rad hose. You have to remove 2 bolts to get at it. Also check that the fan is running. Check that you have adaquate cooling fluid.
It should be a 50/50 mix. Good luck.
