Left hand back door will not open. Seems to be jammed all of a sudden. Have taken off door panel, what should I look for now?. Central locking works on all other doors, and seems to be working on the jammed door as well, as lock lever moves up, but goes down again as soon as I release button on remote.

2005 Citreon C2 1.1 petrol. Key chip broken on unlock, can unlock drivers door manually but cannot open passenger door from inside or outside. I need to open passenger door, any ideas please

Has the Central Locking button on the dashboard stopped working? Have you checked the fuse for the locking systems in the fuse box in the dashboard fuse panel. The panel is located in the LEFT foot well at about knee height when sitting. On LEFT hand drive cars it's behind a trim panel next to the driver's left knee. On RIGHT hand drive cars it's inside the glovebox behind a small trim panel.

Can some one help please my dad passed away and i am trying to sell his car which is a ford granada scorpio n reg the central locking worked yeaterday but today when i put the key in it wouldnt open so i...

I am so sorry and my condolences to you and family. These central lock systems works with a central processor within the car and which must respond with the remote frequency or the driver lock . If there is no response there can be many reasons but it seems to me that even your driver door key is not opening the lock which means that there is a mechanical issue with the key and lock. Use some WD40 into the lock to clear any dirt, check if the key has worn out if so you can get one duplicated at any center. If the key turns but the lock does not open then the actuator motor is faulty , this must be checked within the driver panel, check for power to the master unit, check the motor and drive to the lock. there can be an open connection in the hinges to the master unit or a mechanical jamming . Take consensus if you are in doubt to proceed.

Toyota corolla verso 2007 . the central locking has stopped working

Toyota Corolla Verso - Central locking has just stopped responding

So you don't waste your time, here are some assumptions: -

1. When I press the key fob there is no sound of doors trying to lock/unlock and I know the key fob is fine.

Solution:

In this situation reset the alarm/locking system

Below is the procedure I followed to get the central locking working again: -

Open the passenger door, and look at the side of the dash board. There should be a triangular panel. Pull the panel off to reveal a small set of fuses(see the back of the panel for the fuse map). To power down the central locking you need to remove the Dome Light fuse, this is located top left. Second one down 7.5 amps. (if in doubt remove the top two 7.5 amp fuses I did)

When you remove the fuse(s) you will notice the interior light go out indicating you have powered down the system.

Now leave them out for at least 30 mins so any capacitors can discharge properly. (Be aware while the fuse is removed all central locking is disabled, so the other doors are open. I left the fuse(s) out over night with all the doors open but I don't recommend it, 30 mins should be fine)

After 30 mins replace the fuse(s) close all doors, and then try your key fob, hopefully you should here that satisfying locking sound.

2. When I press the key fob I hear the locking system trying to engage.

This could be a faulty door switch on any door including the boot, or there could be a dent in the inner door panel of any of the doors, usualy the rear doors due to the seat belt not retracting properly.

Solution:

Check all door switches for damage, and check inner panel for dents, just a small dent where the switch connects can be enough to not engage the switch. This will stop the central locking.

Use some kitchen roll wrapped in tape (as a makeshift pad) and tape to the inner door as a temp measure to engage the door switch. At least you can then lock the car.

I have a 2004 landrover discovery 2 and the central lock is inop

Likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.

Peugeot 407 boot wont open

We had a similar problem with a 2008 right hand drive 407;ST HDI Touring. Suddenly the remote would not lock the doors and whenever you drove over 20kph then back under it would keep trying to lock itself. Anyhow after a thorough reading of the manual we discovered that the car will only lock if all the doors are closed properly. What we didn't realise is that the glass panel in the boot lid will also open outward like a flap, to allow smaller parcels to be placed in the boot without having to open the larger boot lid. We owned a Mercedes 300TE which didn't have this feature so didn't think to look for it. This was not closed properly. The handle/release must have been knocked when washing the car. Anyhow, once it was firmly shut everything went back to normal. Good as new.

Remote central locking not working on my audi A6 2.4 automatic petrol left hand drive but when doing it manually with key only drivers door opens and all indecaters flash quicker than usual

As far as the central locking issue, it sounds like you need to replace your central locking pump. You can buy them online.
I have a 95 A6 and I am in the process of looking for a new central locking pump.
The part number may be 4A0 862 257 J, that is what it is for me.
There are directions online as to how to change this yourself once you get the part. If you buy from the dealership the part is $500.
Be thankful your child locks weren't engaged. We haven't been able to open our back doors since the pump went out.
