I had the same warning message and the problem with the remote boot button as well. I actually took it to an audi technician and found the problem. couldnt find the answer online.
I was worried the sensors would need replacing, but in my case at least, it was just the fuse for the boot electronics.
Hope its the same for you. Good Luck
Opening/closing soft top with remote control key: To open, press button e and briefly turn the key to the right in the driver’s door lock. Then, within 2 seconds, turn the key to the left again and hold it in this position (RHD vehicles).Opening the soft top Pull up and hold the switch until the soft top is fully open. Closing the soft top Press and hold the switch until the soft top is completely closed. Notes: If the control switch is released during the opening/closing operation, the soft top will stop moving. The soft top is com pletely open/closed when the warning lamp in the instrument cluster goes out. The soft top can only be opened or closed when the ignition is switched on. For information on how to open/close the soft top manually please refer to the Owner’s Manual.
It says:--
The handle/tool needed to accomplish the task 'manually' is located in the fuse box on the LEFT SIDE of the dashboard. A small flat blade screwdriver will enable you to pry open the fuse cover & gain access to the handle/tool. Slight twist the tool and it comes out easily. Tool is a "T" shaped handle.Once you have the handle/tool IN HAND, simply turn the RED part (only) on the handle until it 'locks' in an open position. Leaves a small space on the handle.
If nothing is working then check the switch which you depress to open/close the roof.remove the switch and check the voltage. If its no voltage then the switch is faulty and that needs to be replaced.

Hi! Have you tried checking the relay that connects to the roof? It may be faulty causing the roof not to work. Try to replace it and this may resolve the problem. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!
