Turn cruise control off. You should never use cruise control when pulling a heavy load. It puts more strain on the transmission and engine.

Cruise control not working on vectra 2.0 diesel 2005 I have tried brake and clutch switches any fresh ideas

Though I'm not familiar with the Diesel, most vehicles have two throttle cables. One is for the cruise and it's common for the plastic part at the end (throttle body) to break. This is the easiest fix, and very commonly the problem. Good Luck

04 dodge 2500 diesel surging and dieing

Had the same issue on my 2003 2500. Turned out to be the fuel control actuator on the back of thr cp3 injection pump. Buy from Genosgarage.com for about $100. dealer wants double that for the exact same Bosch part. Removes with three torx screws after you remove wire connector.

Cruise control light comes on but will not set. as soon as 80km is reached light goes out and will not come on again untill ignition is switched off. Brake lights all working fine. 2009 Kia Sportage...

Well Im hoping that by telling you to check your cruise control wiring and vacuum routing for broken, unplugged wires or vacuum hoses you just might find that a simple vacuum line is in need of attention. good luck

I want to install cruise control on my 2005 gmc sierra 4x4,whats involed?

Hi,

Most of the time cruise controls are one of the easier accessories to install into a vehicle. Most only take approx 45 minutes to install. Some may take longer. Vehicles with manual transmissions may add another 10 minutes to the job on average. There are usually only six electrical connections and only two mechanical connections to make when installing a cruise control into a gasoline (not diesel) powered vehicle with an automatic transmission as well as mounting the control arm and servo.

Cheers,
Kanu

2005 Ford 5.4 Super Duty

Your issue would actually be with your transfer case I believe, do not tow in 4 wheel drive. A 5.4 super duty can pull a house on skids.... ask previous owner if rear differential has been swapped out as well. Just as an after thought, first make sure your camper brakes are not engaged...if it has brakes.

2005 diesel excursion when towing 8000lb trailer up a hill, seemed to lose complete power - no shifting, couldn't accelerate.

From your symtoms I would suspect a clogged fuel filter. It may seem to run okay without a load, but it requires a larger supply of fuel under load. Anything that restricts the flow of fuel will cause what you described.

Brake controller not communicating w/ 7 pin connector

what type controller did you install? Is this a camper or trailer? Is the controller hydraulic plumbed into master cylyder? Important to know how to adjust rheostat for sensitivity. If set at minimum the system is basically on the edge of not sending any signal to towed unit. The intructions should explain how to make this adjustment. If set too sensitive trailer brakes will lock up before the tow vehcle starts to brake. Controller should be set so trailer starts braking just befor the tow vehcle. If not the trailer will tax the tow vehicle brakes by pushing. Its set right when you feel the combination stretching out. trailer first then tow vehcle. Good luck and remember, if truck brakes first and too hard you risk a jacknife. All light voltages should be system voltage. Brake voltage is variable depending on setting on controller. Understand your breakaway brakes and how they work. breakaway breaks require an auxillary battery. Again, good luck and you know where to find me if I can be of anymore help.

Towing capabilities

this is to heavy for your car, the brakes won't handle it and it can damage/overheat the transmission.
