I have the same issue. I took the flasher relay out, inspected the pieces for any hairline fractures on the circuit board, nothing it was clean. On my jeep, the turn signals always work in the Spring, Summer, Fall months, but as soon as Winter hits I loose my turn signals. Also, I know it is temperature related because I drive around for a half hour and the signals work again. It is really strange, I think the issue is somewhere in the ground wire, I will be checking that next and will post any new information. Anybody else who has had this issue and correlation I would certainly like to hear about any solutions. Thanks
The brake and turning lights are on a different switch than the tail lights. Check the fuse for the brake light circuit. Check to see if your front turning lights work. My guess is they won't work either.
That does not make any sense. Do the tail lights work? There are supposed to be separate filaments for brake lights, tail lights, and turn signals. In particular the center brake light should not be possible to be confused with tail lights or signals. Does it come on? If not, then you probably have no brake lights at all, and that is probably because of the bad fuse or the switch on the brake pedal for the brake lights. If there is some sort of cross over between tail light and brake lights, that is usually from a bad light socket ground; which results in current backing up from one system to another. But then each is usually only half brightness.
well first check all fuse make sure builbs are good this jeep has bcm on the back fuse panel they are very commen to have issue you can try to see if local shop can reprogram this or it may be bad hope this helps
You didn't mention your rear brake lights. If they don't work either then you probably have a bad light control module (LCM). This is a common problem with big Fords. You can buy a replacement part ($250) or have yours rebuilt (www.autoecu.com). The module is located under the dash to the right of the steering column and is fairly easy to replace. Do the turn signals work? If not it may be the turn signal switch. The aftermarket parts are cheaper than a Ford factory part; check the guarantee before deciding. Worse case scenario? You need both parts.
if the third brake light works and the bulbs aren't blown, it's usually the turn signal switch. it sounds wierd, but that's probably what it is. It is under the steering wheel and is not the easiest or cheapest thing to replace. It should fix your problem, but may hurt your wallet in the process. Guy at work paid 300 to fix his 2000 grand prix with the same problem.
