I try to start my 04 eclipse but nothing happens, no clicking or anything. i had it jump started then it went a few miles before it started jerking and shaking while i accelerated. i pulled it over and when i stepped on the breaks, the car violently jerked to a stop. i turned it off and haven't been able to get it started since. i think it might be an alternator or something. before i stopped the car, the TCL and check engine lights came on and started flickering. then everything just sort of shut down.

It sounds like a sensor is intermittantly loosing the data stream. Since the engine light came on, I would go to a reputable shop and have them check for codes. Many auto parts stores will do this as well and sometimes for free. Can't beet free. If I were to guess I would say something like the camshaft postion sensor is going bad, Or the crankshaft postion sensor, Or something like that. The code will tell which one it is.
Good luck, and if you have any further questions please....ask!
Battery is dead... get a volt meter, jump the car and with the car running on its own power check the voltage, anything less than 12v could point to an alternator but a new battery is a better place to start. put it to you this way if the car shuts off while driving, then its your alt, and if its fine wen drivin but wont start back up... its all battery
hello im sorry to here that i read what you replaced but i dont see anything about a bad starter solenoid wich is mounted on your inside wall off your pass fender ford solenoids have a mind of there own on the solenoid you will see your ignition wire connection marked i pull it off slowly to feel if it is to loose if it is lightly close slightly with pliers so you get a tighter fit if you havnt replaced the solenoid i would clean all contacts to it including were it mounts for a good ground goodluck
