I just got an oil change and the guy recommended that i get my automatic transmission fluid flushed...i have 48,000 miles on my car..should i do this service for $120?

replace the timing belt , crank and cam shaft seal , hydraulic belt adjuster and idler pulleys ( 100,000 km limit)
rest of the service as per the service manual
if automatic . change the auto oil and if CV Transmission check with the dealer as the transmission oil to use as it is different to automatic oil

I couldn't find the manual for the 2005, the 2006 says the automatic transmission should be inspected every 24,000 km (15,000 mi) and changed every 60,000 km (37,500 mi).
The manual transmission should be inspected every 48,000 km (30,000 mi) and has no recommended change within 180,000 km (112,500 mi) where the maintenance schedule ends.

On automatic transmission that has over 100,000 miles,you should not flash it. DO NOT got to a shop that use re-circulate machine to flush out the transmission.

Base on the 2005 production year,you should have only 60,000 on the transmission.

The correct method is to purchase the transmission filter,pan gasket kit + transmission fluid and a trans line cleaning fluid.



Get the complete kit from your auto parts supply store and do the drain,cooler flush and filter change.

Recycle your old transmission fluid at your part store or recycling center.

Look in the owners manual, it's most likely there.

Do you have an Automatic tranny With 4 speed (AW4), or an Automatic With 5 speed (AW5) With a "Flush & Change" there is no reason to drop pan and change filter...the flush and change does it without removing any parts. I would stick with your "in-town guy"!

power steering fluid should not need flushed! transmossion and transfer case should be changed by 100k if it hasnt already been! when u change tranny fluid put new filter too! You can buy a manual on ebay!

just change it,oil too old,it might low too coz of the shudder.
