The brake warning light should not affect the truck not starting...most of the time is because of low brake fluid or the emergency brake is on. To check for codes you should just turn the key to the on position and you need to try resetting you anti theft light.
your anti theft device is activated, you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob, call your buick dealer to get a new one, they are programmed for each car only, you cannot bypass it.
Let the car sit undisturbed for 10 - 15 minutes, then try to start it. Check the owners manual if you have it. Sometimes, on various cars letting them sit awhile will allow the system to reset itself. On others sometimes rapidly turning the key from off to on, without turning to start 3 to 8 times within 10 seconds and then on the last turn to the on position leave it there until the horn chirps, at that point turn the key directly to start, or turn off first and turn to start. If all this fails, a GM dealer can reset the system.
Leave the key in the run position until the security light stops blinking. This should take 10 minutes. Then turn the key off, wait 5 seconds and try to start it. The security light should be blinking again. Leave the key on again for 10 minutes. Repeat this 3 times. After the third time on the the next start it should start and run fine. This will reprogram your theft system.
The most common reason for this condition is a faulty ignition switch. It loses contact momentarily while cranking, causing a voltage loss to the security system and starts the 10 minute security timer in the computer. It will not start until the timer runs out. Usually the key has to be left on after a start attempt for the ten minutes. Some cars require 30 minutes. I hope this helps you and please rate this,
do u have an owners manual? this is the security system warning symbol, you have been locked out, try this reset procedure, if that doesn't reset the key code then you will need a dealer to hook up a GM scasnner and see what the problem is. PASSKEY LOCKOUTRESET GM CARS 1999 UP 1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the PASSKEY system to recognize your key.

Your security system has locked u out, do a pass key reset, if this does not work then u will need the dealer to test the system for a failed part.

I just recently was troubled with the same problem it can only be fixed by changing the ignition switch. you have to get the key and switch together (dealer only) any GM dealer will be able to help with that then remover the steering wheel and get to work or pay a mechanic to do that for you but it will solve the problem you see there is a small white wire that came apart sucks but that's what happened .
IS THIS A CADILLAC CTS????
