Re: Inside latch won't open door but outside works fine
Inside latch has a wire that is connected to the door opener and the plastic clip that holds it in place has brocken, you need to take the interior door panel off to get to it.

I see you are ale to see the cables and rods how and when they operate. When you to open the latch from the outside and the inside. Are you able to see if they move the mechanism up or down as you try to open the door working the latch outside and the inside door handle. Sounds like your door latch broke internally, the only thing I was able to do was from the inside with somebody holding the outside latch up to open. Kick it hard in the area where the door latch is. Lay on the sit and kick it hard while the outside individual lifts the latch and pulls. It should pop open. Good luck.
My friend just had this problem and he reached in and pulled the inside door handle back as far as it would go, and then let it go, allowing it to 'snap' back. For some reason this fixed it. We have no idea why. By doing this on one door, both rear door locks freed up and the rear locks are now working. Before, both rear locks were stuck and you could not open the doors from the inside nor the outside. Not sure why it works, but maybe it will work for you!
There is a rod inside the door that connects the inside and outside door handles to the latch mechanism, if it gets bent or broke it won't activate the latch. The inside door panel will have to be removed and parts of the mechanism also to reinstall. Would recommend maybe taking somewhere unless it's an old BWM.
