Jetta 3 1995 1.8,mortor does not turn which makes the car not to start. What can I do

I have a 96 jetta What type of noise ? Could it be the solenoid on the starter ?

Yes, it does sound like the starter soleniod. Have someone turn the switch while you tap the starter and solenoid with a hammer.Ssometimes it will make it operate but it still needs replacement. If the starter has not been replaced I would replace it too.

i would inspect the ac condensor

check to make sure battery in good conditions.the battery voltage should be 12.5.if all is good.problem is in starter solenoid.if it wont replace with the new starter.also bad battery cables.replace battery cables if they havent been changed.a bad transmission range switch.
