SOURCE: where is blower motor resistor

There is a resistor pack for the fan speed in the ductwork near the fan.. It is very easy to replace once it is located. Ussually there are either one or two 5.5mm screws holding it in place. Once you get it out you will notice the resistors that are burnt.

SOURCE: 99 Olds Intrigue, blower fan resistor

It will burn out. Air flow in the heater box cools the resistor. These resistors get very hot when the blower is running.

Look next to the blower. You can remove the panel under the passenger side. Go through the glove box and move it down out of the way to access the electrical connector. Then remove two bolts and the electrical connector.

My air in my pontiac aztek comes on sometimes and

If a fuse was blown, the blower wouldn't run at all. It sounds like loose wiring. If it only works on certain numbers, it would most likely be the blower motor resistor. On the passenger side under the glove box, there is a removable panel. Behind the panel is the blower motor. Try to push the wires in a little tighter. Then try out the fan.

Ac wont blow 2001 pontiac aztec

Are you saying the blower motor isnt working? Does the heat blow? If it doesnt replace the blower motor. If car isnt making cold air you can charge it yourself or go to auto zone the should do it for you. Check ac belt.

Blower not working

I would suspect the blower motor speed control switch is defective. Depending on how this system is wired it could be the blower motor resistor pack, but the only thing I have seen cause this is a defective speed control. Do not rule that out as a possibility. Salvage yard would be a good place to buy a speed control switch for the blower motor. The only way you will know for sure is to replace it.

Front vents don't want to blow air - new battery

Changing the blower motor resistor will solve the problem of the unchanging fan speeds and the blower motor having power when the ignition is turned to the off position. Beware that there are three different kinds of blower motor resistors. There is a manual, automatic, and a digital that in appearance is greatly different from the first two. The blower motor resistor is located on the passenger side below and behind the glove box. The kick-plate under the glove box will need to be removed by two screws and wha-la, behold is the motor and resistor.
