I'm guessing that you have the 6 cyl 2.5 liter engine because the 2.4 liter engine that the Cirrus had for that year I believe had a coil pack. The picture below is for the 2.5. You will have to remove the upper intake manifold to replace the rear plug.There are no shortcuts ,and besure to replace the upper intake gasket as well.

I haven't tried it yet and am thinking of purchasing a Chilton manual just in case, but as far as explanations go the one at the very bottom of the page in the link sounds the most legitimate so far.
Besides, I have to pay you guys $9.99 for one answer that I can get for free; or I can get the Chilton and have a whole heap of answers for around $20.

Check the coil packs, or the Ignition module. Disconnect the harness to the ignition module. And test the leads to see if there is current. I don't know what the specs should be, but it will be minimal. Never overlook fuses either.
