Hello, Where is the Coolant sensor located on a 1995 Mercury Mystique GS 2.5L

My database just showed a text location for cts/coolant temp sensor. Upper left engine. You might look around thermostat housing? I don't think it's in the housing, but, might be close? I did look at wiring diagram for coolant temp sensor. Two wire connector, main wire colors brown and white. Good luck

It should be located on the back of the motor near the cam sensor. Not near the firewall, but where the trans meets the engine.

Temp sensor needs to be replaced

this does not mean the sensor is defective, it most likely means the engine thermostat is stuck open and the engine is not running hot enough to satisfy the computers preset temp requirements for minimum eng operating temp.
