TCM A/T FI Data Line Circuit Malfunction
Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the TCM FI Data Line circuit during the test.
Possible Causes:


A/T FI data line is open or shorted to ground . A/T FI data line is shorted to VREF or system power. TCM or PCM has failed .Here is what is listed for the Honda Odyssey.

You'll need to have someone check the computer for trouble codes to proceed. Once you have the codes you can research the causes.

Try to see if there are any codes in the obd-II computer that would indicate what is unusual about the 97 honda odyssey that would cause a high idle. For instance, if there is a code for a bad iacv (idle air conrol valve) if so equipped, then this could be the cause of the problem. HI THIS IS Common cause of surging idle and the code P0505 is a sticking Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Refer to Honda TSB #04-007 for updated part number. Hope this helps replace your IAC.

1999-2003 Honda Odysseys have trouble with their transmissions. Google "honda odyssey transmission" and look at the wikipedia article that comes up for Honda odysseys. In about the fourth paragraph you will find out about the transmission problems. If your van is acting up, have the transmission checked out sooner vs. later. It won't get better on it's own. Have the diagnostic trouble codes retrieved from the car's computer--any code that starts with 17 as in "1740" or codes that start with zero like "0730" are transmission codes and signs of impending failure. I know because my 2002 with 165,000 miles just failed.

That is a trouble code warning. Have an analyzer connected to the dash to give you the specific code.
