Check your radiator hoses first, but it sounds like your water pump needs to be replaced.

You will need codes any auto zone will give them to you free. Once you have codes you will have an Idea what to repair.

Code 171 means the O2 sensor is telling the computer the fuel mixture for bank one is too lean. Bank one is the side with cylinder number one. The problem could be the sensor, or something else like an injector that is actually causing the fuel mixture to be lean. The sensor would need to be checked.

yes thats the check engine light you just need to take it somewhere to get ti checked find out what the fault code is see whats goin on.

My car did the same thing and I went and had it checked out. They had to replace my mass air flow censor. Cost me a little over $200. The only thing is after I had it fixed, my check engine light kept coming on. They said that my fuel line was running rich because I had ran my car so long with that problem. May want to get that checked out!
