I have a 2002 ford taurus. check engine light is on. Auto Zone did a scan today and the error code was p1507 can you please tell me what i need to do to fix this problem.

possible problems

Vaccuum leak
failed IAC valve
open or short
air inlet plugged

P1507 means "Idle Air Control Underspeed Error". It can be most commonly caused by a vacuum leak, a damaged Idle Air Control (IAC) assembly or a stuck IAC valve that needs cleaning. Essentially, your engine isn't idling at high enough according to your computer's programming parameters. Many times this shows up in colder weather as you try and start your vehicle. It will usually die unless you put your foot on the gas pedal and raise the RPM's. I have also read where a clogged air filter might be the problem. I would try cleaning your IAC valve first.

Were do i locate the two sensors p0420 and p0430

Those codes don't indicate a failure of any particular sensor. They are codes for the bank 1 and bank 2 catalytic converters. The computer uses the oxygen sensors in front of and behind the catalytic converters to determine how well the converters are working. If the efficiency of the converters go below a specific threshold the computer will set the codes you got. Common repairs for this code include replacement of the catalytic converters (most common), failure of the front o2 sensors (slow switching rate) or a computer reprogram.

I have a 2003 Ford Escape with a PO420 error code. When I accelerate, it sounds like air is coming from my engine. What is the problem and what should I do?

Here's what the code means, P0420 -- Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1).
Causes: Bad O2 senor, bad catalytic converter, and/or leaking exhaust manifold.

The error is coming from the O2 sensor number 1 between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. The sensor itself may not be the problem. From what your describing is maybe a leak coming somewhere near the exhaust manifold. This would set off the P0420 code. Look around the exhaust manifold down to the catalytic converter for leaks that will leave black marks from burned fuel. If this can't be easily found, you may have to take the car in and have the exhaust hooked up to a smoke machine. This will inject smoke into the tail pipe and any leaks will be found by the smoke coming out of it.

How to remove rear brake drums on 2002 frod escape

Behind the brake mounting plate there is a small hole with a rubber plug on the top portion.

Remove the plug. Look from the back of the vehicle and you will see a star wheel in the hole. Stick

a long skinny screw driver with a large blade and rotate it in the direction of risistance.(clockwise).

You will hear a spring poping noise. Rotate a few times and the drums will turn freely.

Then you can slide the drums off.
