It may be your wheel bearing on either or right or left front tire. Put your car on jacks and remove both tires. Pull on the wheel up and down. If it moves with a clanking sound, your wheel bearing needs to be replaced.

Oldsmobile Intrigue front end howl

Need more info...front end you say... A particular side? Is replaced tire the same as other 3 tires? hear it while driving, or braking, or both? Hear it more steering left or right or going around a corner?

Could be a front wheel/hub bearing is my only guess at this point. Howling or groaning could also mindicate a transmission problem.

I have a honda pilot when I start off the left front whell makes a howling sound. That sound even gets louder going 50 mph around a slight right turns. I changed the tires at 10K and the sound went away no...

This might be a wheel bearing problem. All of your symptoms point to this except for the noise going away when the tires were changed. If you jack your car up and spin the tires by hand sometimes you can find one that is louder and sounds rougher than the rest. This indicates a faulty wheel bearing.

Have a 2004 impala with howling noise from the front?

Here are a couple of things to check for. When driving turn car left and the right to see if noise gets louder then quieter. If so you will need a bearing hub. Also check power steering fluid in pump, if low you will get a howling noise. Looking for a noise is difficult task from a computer. Hope this gives you a starting point.

Why does my car make howling noise that sounds like its coming from either front right or center of the car, it doesnt pull while going straight, the engine is newer with 40,000 miles on it, the wheel...

You probably have a bad hub bearing. If you can change the noise by slightly turning the vehicle one way or the other it is a hub bearing. If you turn left and the noise is still there then it is the right front bearing. If you turn right and the noise is still there it is the left side.If it makes the noise both ways it could be both front hubs.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The car makes a howling noise while driving it

well did the noise start after the tires were rotated?could be choppy tires,,,if not ,i strongly think it sounds like a bad wheel bearing,,,,if you drive and while its making the noise turn left and right quick and see if the noise gets louder and which way turning makes it louder,,if you turn leftand it gets louder its usually the right wheels bearing as you are putting load on it, if it makes the noise louder while turning right its the left wheel bearing,,,got it

You must replace wheel bearings in pairs to avoid loading the old bearing and, in time ruining your new bearing hub it is possible that you have already damaged the new hub

HOWLING NOISES

Did you check your Transmission fluid and your differential fluids make sure there up and I don't know if you checked your rear wheel bearings or not, You can usually tell a wheel bearing when you are driving the car at highway speeds and you go around a corner and it get quite a bit louder Depending on what way you are turning if your turning right and it gets louder it will usually be the right side front or rear. the left usually the left front or back. some cases I have even heard Axles making a Howling Noise. Please let me know what you come up with. And Thanks in advance If I helped you out any. Bear001
