Sounds like your heater core is leaking, You could do a cooling system pressure test and check the a/c drain under the hood for coolant leak, sometimes it will also leak on floor on passenger side.

SMOKE IS COMING FROM MY CROWN VIC VENTS THEN I SMELL A SWEET SMELL

the smoke is probably coolant steam and the sweet smell is the unique aroma of engine coolant (anti-freeze). check the carpets, they may be wet with coolant. most likely a heater core failure.

Smell and white smoke coming thur ac vents

Your heater core has developed a leak (of coolant). The smell is the "sweet" smell of ethylene glycol,
a component of engine coolant. The white smoke is steam coming from the heated coolant evaporating.
The coolant is dripping into your duct work under the dashboard, and apparently being evaporated
out of the ductwork and sent into the passenger compartment, meaning its a small leak.
When the leak gets worse, you may get wet carpet on the front passenger side.

Smoke coming through vents temp. gauge going up acting like its going 2 overheat turn heater on hot and smokes bad turn to cool and smokes a little my husband thinks it's the thermostat and wants to...

If the heater core is leaking, you would get a lot of steam that would smell "sweet". That would also leave you low on coolant, which could be a source of your overheating. If it's more of an electrical smell, you may have a blower motor or a blower motor resistor going bad, but won't cause the engine to overheat.

Ford f-150 that has smoke coming inside the vents when you drive it.what would cause this? 4.5 v-8

You trucks heater core is leaking inside the dash heating vents, the air blower motor blows through the heater core and then you smell the leaking coolant in the form of a sickly sweet vapor. You will need to replace the header core, this is a fairly big job and in most cases best left to a professional.

1999 ford expendition has smoke coming out of the vent

If it is a kind of sweet smell then your heater core needs to be replaced. It's leaking and you should keep an eye on your coolant level until you get it fixed. The smoke is coolant. Hope this helps.

Noticed smoke coming out from the a/c vents and along side the front windshield, fogging up the window. The service engine light is on, but that has been on for sometime, then it went off last week, and is...

Hi,
First off, God bless you for stepping up for that baby!
OK about the vehicle... Generally when a heater core goes bad, the symptoms of a white smoke occur from the vents. Another symptom is a sweet smell from the antifreeze, possibly dampness on the passenger carpet, dryness in the back of your throat... ha.
Sorry... heater cores aint cheap... mostly labor entensive. You could continue to drive trhe vehicle until you are ready for repair or whatever you decide to do. You'll just have to put up with the symptoms till you do, and you won't have much luck defrosting.
The engine code shouldn't pick this up... that's a different animal.
Hope this helps... Good luck!

Smoke coming out vents when defrost is on and temp gauge goes up and down in 1994 Taurus

The fluctuation in the temp gage indicates a low coolant situation. The smoke you see from the defroster vent is actually antifreeze that is leaking from the heater core somewhere and as the antifreeze evaporates from the heat it causes a vapor to produce. You should smell a very sweet smell when you see the vapor. If so it is definitely antifreeze. Find the leak and fix it. Then refill your coolant system to specs and you should be good to go.
