Ok. i have two problems with my 1994 chevy silverado 1500. the first is i noticed when i am driving in overdrive, it skips the four low gear and goes straight to four high. and also when i'm driving on the highway my transmission does allow me to accelerate very fast and doesnt have much torque. it also overheats very easily. the second problem is my air-conditioner. it doesnt seem to blow very hard or cool. my friend has the same model and got a brand new air-conditioning system and it has the same problem

Transmission Problem. Assuming All Fluid is RED in Color and Has NO BURNT SMELL to it> If So REPLACE Transmission as It IS TOO LATE<< Sounds As if you have a ("TCC") Problem along With a Kick Down / Low Gear Engage Problem, All of Witch can Be Atributed to the VALVEBODY & The (*Torque Converter Clutch") Solinoid Sticking or FAILING. >> Replace Or Rebuild Valve Body & Replace TCC Solinoid
Now The A/C Problem Sounds as If The Blower Motor Resistor Modual, and if this Part is ok the Evaperater Could Be CLOGGED Restricting the AirFlow and Causing the EVAPERATER to Freeze up

SOURCE: 2003 chevy silverado will not shift into drive or overdrive.

transmission shift solenoid is stuck open this is a common vehicle issue in automatics and not particular to any make or model vehicle 15 dollar part and arm and leg for labor if taken in

heres an idea to try
take out the transmission filter and replace with new one make sure to take not of any metal debry in trans pan this indicates the trans had sheered its gears down and a trans rebuild is needed
the transfilter needs to be changed at a certain milage interval they can get clogged up
there is a kit you buy for your truck at any parts store
its an easy change hour of time unbolt trans pan unbolt trans filter and put new one in
kit comes with new seals less than an hour you can do it yourself

to overdrive you would feel a difference in shift badley if it was that something to keep in mind

SOURCE: air conditioner problem with 2005 chevy 1500 silverado

I have the same problem exactly, if i turn off the ignition and then turn it back on it begins blowing cold air again. I would like to know what the problen is as it sounds like it is not unique to just my vehicle.

2010 Chevy silverado Rear wheel dragging on turns

if you have a limited slip differential or a diff locker in action , that is what will happen if the unit is locked up
if you do not have anything but a normal diff, it indicates gear failure and the side gears ( spider gears ) have metal in the teeth and are jammed

What gear do I use when driving on normal road in my 98 Chevy blazer

The owners manual says to use the overdrive gear under normal conditions and when pulling a trailer. You are suppose to drop down on gears only when going up a incline ( Hill ) that is causing you to accelerate drastically.

Transmission problems

Automatic? It won't move in overdrive, drive, 2, or 1? If it won't it sounds like a burnt forward clutch. You have tried all these positions?

You probably have a bad encoder motor. It is located on the side of the transfer case on the drivers side.It is black. The other problem they had with these was the switch but you have already replaced this so your next thing is the encoder motor.Hope this helps.Good luck.
