There is usually a manual turn hidden somewhere on the inside roof. Find it and turn it with a wrench/screwdriver. Hope this helps :-)

Testimonial: "That was the key to getting it closed. Needed 200# of torque!"

Look for blown fuses 1st under dash. then ubder hood, black box on driver fender well, if nnot that replace moonroof switch,, hope this helps!!

I ended up closing the roof manually, using a screw driver; the access is beneath the personal dome light (map light). The motor actually runs, and the roof is on the same fuse as the power windows, so I can rule out the fuse. Turned out to be the switch. Thanks!

  • Grasp the cover to the rear cooling system, located to the rear of the moon-roof control. Remove the cover by pulling it down. Set the cover aside.
  • Locate the two moon-roof-control-cover retaining screws beneath the cover. Insert a Phillips-head screwdriver into one of the screws. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise until the screw is completely loose. Repeat the process on the other screw. Set the screws aside. Remove the moon-roof control cover and set it aside.
  • Remove the tool bag from beneath the front passenger's seat. Remove the crank-shaped screwdriver from the tool bag. Insert the screwdriver into the drive-shaft screw, located beneath the moon-roof control cover. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise until the screw is completely loose. Remove the screw and accompanying spacers. Set the screw and spacers aside.
  • Pull the moon roof forward by hand, as far as it will go. Insert the screwdriver into the drive shaft. Turn the drive shaft clockwise with the screwdriver until the moon roof is completely closed.

What to know if sunroof only slides open or if it will pop up to open like preludes

    On EX and EX-V6 models:
The moonroof has two positions: it can be tilted up in the back for ventilation, or it can be slid back into the roof. Use the switch under the left dashboard vent to operate the moonroof. The ignition switch must be ON (II).
To tilt up the back of the moonroof, press and hold the center button. To close the moonroof, press and hold the top of the switch To open (slide back) the moonroof, press and hold the bottom of the switch. Release the switch when the moonroof gets to the desired position. Make sure everyone's hands are away from the moonroof before opening or closing it.
The moonroof has a key-off delay. You can still open and close the moonroof for up to ten minutes after you turn off the ignition. The key-off delay cancels as soon as you open either door. You must then turn the ignition ON (II) for the moonroof to operate.
    Hope this helps.

Shade for 93 honda wont close. window works fine. but shade is stuck

I don't know if this will work, but you can try it. If you use the manual method for closing the moonroof, or opening it, it MIGHT take the shade along with it. The following is the procedure, which you may already know.
The moonroof can be closed manually, if the control switch will not close it.
    1. Remove the round plug near the rear center of the headliner.
    2. Insert the moonroof wrench (from the tool kit, should be in the trunk) into the socket.
3.Turn the wrench until the moonroof seats in the closed position.
    4. Replace the plug.
As I say, this MIGHT work. Hope it helps.

1988 Toyota Camry LE - Moonroof doesn't work.

your moon roof needs to be lubricated. go to any auto parts store and get a can of WD40 with a tiny plastic tube attached. have one person on the outside with the can and another on the inside with some paper towels or a cloth. Carefully spray WD40 into the track and let it sit overnight. Then try moving the window. Repeat until it moves properly.

Moonroof for 2004 camry se seems to be jammed

Sounds like the mechanism has had issues with the track because of faulty parts "plastic". You might do some research online to see if this part has been recalled. Try inquiring online to "recalled parts for 2004 toyota camry se".Try a camry forum online.
