Re: Why would a lexus ls 400 constantly flood and not...
If you refer to spark plugs wet with fuel , 1st check for ign coil have spark , if good, then check engine compression , if under 100 psi , thats the problem.

Find a better mechanic. How can a battery POSSIBLY overcharge with the alternator disconnected? plus you NEVER should disconnect battery or alternator while engine is running. A voltage surge could wipe out the ecm.
that is very possible if the starter is drawing to many amps it will kill a battery in a short time
watch your volt meter ill bet it jumps to 14volts after starting
heater motor has a short in it createing a severe draw that takes voltage away from the igniton switch also if it has been doing this for a while? then you may have to replace or repair the plug on the ignition switch
Your fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator are not supplying constant fuel pressure. Too much or too little is causing it to kill. You can pull the vacuum line from the regulaor and check for gas. If there is none, you need a pump, it is weak.
Change the fan resistor it should be located under dash near the glove box ther's a rectangular electrical plug going to it it should be located somewhere on the heater box. These usually go bad because of the constant condensation and temp. changes present.
ok, i tell you 3 possible causes.
check maf sensor connection , check fuel pressure regulator (max press fuel in rail 40 psi) , check engine compression (min 95 psi ) if less this cause spark plugs wet and not start
