I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee with fuel pump problems, what I have done so far is, I have changed out the fuel pump, the new pump I put in will continue to run and want stop, the pump sounds like it is trying to prime but the pump is pumping enough pressure to the motor, but the jeep will not crank.

Let me be clear here. Crank means turn. Ignite means start running. So it will crank but not ignite and ur sure u have 35psi of fuel pressure. Next is to have someone gently wiggle the wires at the engine control unit while u turn the key

You can adjust the switch by putting your thumbs on either side of the switch plunger and pushing toward the brake lever. The switch shaft will ratchet into the new position which is will then be depressed by the brake lever when it is the brake is not being depressed.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee that sometime wants to stall for no rhyme or reason. Backfires at times. I have put fuel injector cleaner in and it didn't change a thing. Transmission has been checked and...

I had the same symtoms, and went to 2 jeep dealers twice each, & neither got it fixed. Of course they wouldn't reimburse me for the "repairs" they had done. After my own research, I ordered a new (rebuilt) ECU from Auto Computer Exchange on Ebay for about $185.00. So far not one backfire or stall (about 4 months). It helps to have your milage, VIN, and original computers #. They were very helpful, but can't remember who specifically I talked to.
